Activates an alarm call made from the Alarm Unit
It should be noted that the equipment may vary slightly from the diagrams illustrated on the website and in the printed literature, however please be assured all units are tested to our highest standards.
To activate the system:
- Press the emergency button on your pendant or base unit. Your Pendant is a radio alarm transmitter. The base unit will beep and a light will flash, to tell you that the system is active. The unit will then dial directly through to the Emergency Response Centre.
- The Emergency Response Centre will respond in seconds. The base unit now behaves like a ‘hands free’ telephone. The operator will know who you are and where you live. You will hear the operator answer through its loudspeaker. The unit also has a highly sensitive microphone, so you can talk to the operator and explain your problem, even if you are at some distance from it.
- The appropriate help will be arranged for you. The operator will immediately alert your key-holders, or the appropriate emergency service. Even if you are unable to speak, or the operator cannot hear your voice, they will know who is calling and will send help at once.
