Who Comes to Help?Choose your two keyholdersYou will be asked to select two or more people (or one contact plus a KeySafe) living at separate addresses (ideally no more than 15-20 minutes away from you) - usually family, friends or neighbours – who you can rely on to come to your aid in an emergency. You don’t have to remember any of your keyholder numbers, or even get to the phone if you need help, all you need to do is press your alarm pendant. Your Aid Call alarm will work from anywhere in the average home or garden*. When pressed within seconds you will be linked to our Emergency Response Centre, where our operators are waiting to help and will contact your chosen keyholders on your behalf, if required.
Your keyholders will be the first people we call. If for any reason, the Emergency Response Centre cannot reach them, or where it would be more appropriate (for example, if you need an ambulance), we will call the emergency services on your behalf. We will also take your doctor’s information and any medical details i.e. hard of hearing and heart condition – this information will always remain confidential and subject to the Data Protection Act. In an emergency we will call the emergency services and then contact your keyholders asking them to provide access to your home. We do not expect keyholders to administer first-aid but to merely allow access to you. Aid Call is available throughout the UK, to anyone who feels they would benefit. There are no waiting lists, nor any complicated forms to fill in. Aid Call is a service provided by Age Concern, charges are kept as low as possible, and any profits go straight back to support the charity.
